Junior Church meets every Sunday morning during term time except for family services. We start the morning in the main service for about 20mins and then we head off to our own activities finishing in time to join back with the congregation for coffee/tea/squash and biscuits.
The basis of our activities is taken from ROOTS which in turn uses the lectionary as its theme. The usual sequence of the morning is a game/activity as a starting point, then a story either from or based around the lectionary of the day. This is then expanded with group discussions/activities and usually a craft of some sort is created by the end of morning.
Children of all ages are welcome, from toddlers to teens, we all meet in the same area but split as necessary into age groups for the activities.
Currently we have 3 leaders who work on a rota of 2 weeks on 1 week off. All the leaders and occasional helpers are CRB checked and work to the church’s safeguarding policy.
