Message from PJ to debbie
I forgot to give you my request for Sunday lunch.
I would prefer sausage, but if not pizza will be fine.
Hope you enjoy your week.
Regards PJ

There were actually about 50 people there although at times it did feel like more, a great time was had by all from the youngest (8years tomorrow) to the oldest (??). Thankyou to everyone who came and supported the event and helped to raise a further £384 towards the new kitchen facilities.

And a good time was had by all.

Most of the hymns chosen had real significance for those who had chosen them and we heard some wonderful testimonies as people shared why particular hymns were important to them, more than one of them in tears as they did so. Deeply moving and clearly popular.

So we are going to be singing Christmas carols after the Christmas Lunch on December 14th.

Thank you to everyone who has passed on comments about Sundays service. I'm glad so many people enjoyed it.

For those who weren't there we based our service around gifts and talents and how we use our God given gifts.

The service started with a "deal or no deal" type game called accept or reject where boxes were chosen and each contained something we were thankful for such as friends, love, chocolate!, the Holy Spirit, and the "contestant" had to decide whether to accept that gift or stick with the unknown one inside their own box. There were some difficult decisions to make!

We then had the story from Matthews gospel about the tenants and rejecting the corner stone.

Thank you to all the uniformed organisations who made pictures to go with the song "Who's the King of the Jungle". (photo to follow).

A small piece of the film "Happy feet" was used to demonstrate how our gifts don't always fit with those around us and Lucy gave a wonderful sermon on how it feels to be accepted / rejected and asking us to think about our gifts and how we use them on a day to day basis.

seeing as how this was JC anniversary we couldn't just sit still all morning so everyone then moved around the church to make their own happy foot which was a foot print that they decorated with words of thanks and their own gifts - what a talented lot we all are!

Thanks again to all those who helped make the morning so enjoyable and meaningful, time to start planning for Christmas now so watch this space!
