Yesterday there was no service at Raunds instead 27 of us and 6 from Thrapston church boarded a coach despite the inclement weather and headed for Northampton along with 7 members of Irthlingborough Methodist Church who joined us en route.
The reason was that the circuit was hosting the national Methodist Youth Conference and we went to support and participate in the service to mark the end of the Conference. We saw the inaugeration of the new Youth President for Methodism and had a lively and thought provoking service with several emotional testimonies and time to pray individually and collectively using various prayer stations.
although it was a service as part of the youth conference the age of the congregation was varied and from both ends of the age spectrum and all points in between. It was great to meet with others from across the circuit/district/country and share in worship.
A great way to prepare for the approaching time of advent.
